As we wrap up another remarkable year, it’s time to celebrate the countless achievements of people living with disability reaching new heights of inclusion, opportunity and pathways to a fulfilling career.

Thanks to generous donors from previous appeals, specialist ceramic and art teachers inspired over 114 artists to participate in this year’s South Australian Living Artists (SALA) exhibition. Imagined by artists with disability, ‘Creating Rainbows’ celebrated the diversity and the unique stories of clients from Bedford’s Learning & Experiences Hubs (previously known as Day Options). The exhibition galleries located across the state, displayed over 200 pieces of artistic media. An online auction facilitated sales and income for each artist – an exciting first for Bedford’s SALA this year. Feedback from guests who visited each gallery was overwhelmingly positive!

Bedford provides initiatives to build social skills, indepedence, confidence and self esteem through our Learning & Experiences Hubs. Over the past 12 months, Bedford has welcomed more than 400 clients across 7 locations at Panorama, Torrensville, Wallaroo, Kadina, Port Pirie, Port Lincoln and Mount Gambier – participants engage in programs that foster essential skills, encourage social connections, build independence, and promote a healthy, active lifestyle. These transformative sessions however, are not fully funded by the government.

Bedford bears the costs of hiring specialist art and dance teachers, securing adaptive or specialised tools and equipment, examples include pottery wheels, cricut machines, photographic equipment, just to name a few and are all part of creating enriching experiences and pathways for all our participants.

We invite you to give a gift – donate today – and share in our commitment to support people living with disability, to live the life they choose – after all ‘tis the season for gifting.

Thank you for Giving a Gift

Heartfelt thanks to all our supporters!

Your donation will gift joy, inclusion and connection for South Australians living with disability this Christmas, thank you.
